Position Summary

Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a Software Engineer for a temporary 6-month opportunity to join our team and support client initiatives. This will be an on-site role, located in Erie, PA. In this role, you will implement code and configuration changes under direction and within a low-risk environment. This is an excellent opportunity to build upon your software engineering experience while contributing to impactful projects. Work may involve one or more of the following areas: Open Systems, Mainframe, Application Configuration, or Cloud-based environments such as AWS.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Implement basic code and configuration changes under direction, following established development standards.
• Develop program logic for new, basic applications or analyze and modify logic in existing applications.
• Prepare and present unit tests to engineers or project leaders.
• Support development activities that contribute to deliverables created by senior developers.
• Code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software applications.
• Analyze requirements, maintain, test, and integrate application components.
• Apply understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in scaling environments to support software delivery.
• Collaborate effectively with customers, teammates, and stakeholders to gather and clarify functional specifications.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of software engineering principles and programming logic.
• Experience with .NET development and cloud-based software engineering (AWS preferred).
• Ability to learn and apply development standards in a structured environment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and DevOps practices in scaling environments.
• Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Previous experience in Open Systems, Mainframe, or Application Configuration (preferred).
