Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a Radiation Therapist to work for a client in Las Cruces, New Mexico area. This is a Direct Hire position, an Onsite role. 

Job Description

The Radiation Therapist will safely and correctly operate equipment delivering ionizing radiation for the purpose of treating neoplastic diseases or other therapeutic purposes. Responsibilities include:
  • Performing high-quality radiation therapy procedures according to exam protocols in a timely manner, as per the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist.
  • Conducting pretreatment preparations, including simulations and the fabrication of treatment devices.
  • Competently performing daily morning quality assurance checks on linear accelerators and CT simulators.
  • Utilizing the hospital and Radiation Oncology EMR systems to record patient treatment delivery, document patient positioning information, and communicate pertinent information regarding patient care coordination.
  • Scheduling patients for simulations and treatments.
  • Participating in on-call procedures if needed.
  • Providing a positive and compassionate patient experience by offering support and education, explaining procedures, and helping patients feel at ease.
  • Maintaining a calm and helpful attitude under stress and resolving issues appropriately.
 

Job Requirements
Must-Haves:
  1. Must be a graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy.
  2. Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and licensed in New Mexico or eligible for licensure.
  3. CPR certification required.
  4. 3-4 years of experience preferred.
  5. Knowledgeable about operational methods and safety standards for equipment producing ionizing radiation.
  6. Able to handle radiation sources.
Nice-To-Haves:
  1. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  2. Strong communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: Graduate of an approved program in Radiation Therapy.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Certified by ARRT and licensed in New Mexico or eligible for licensure. CPR certification is required.
