Job Description:

Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Analyst with extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Backbase and/or Finzly systems. In this role, you will serve as the key liaison between stakeholders and the development teams, ensuring that business requirements are effectively translated into technical specifications to support the successful implementation of digital banking platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the digital transformation journey within the financial sector. This will be a long-term contracting role, a Remote position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
  • Lead workshops to define and refine user stories, use cases, and workflows related to Backbase or Finzly platforms.
  • Conduct gap analysis between business needs and platform capabilities.
• System Implementation and Support:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for the Backbase/Finzly systems throughout the implementation process.
  • Work closely with IT and development teams to design and configure solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Ensure the integration of Backbase/Finzly with other banking systems and third-party services.
• Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation to improve the customer experience and operational efficiency.
  • Lead business process reengineering initiatives to streamline workflows and improve system functionality.
• Testing and Validation:
  • Develop test plans, coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), and validate that system modifications and enhancements meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with QA teams to ensure proper testing of Backbase/Finzly solutions.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including functional specifications, user manuals, process flows, and training materials.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to provide stakeholders with insights into system performance and usage.
• Stakeholder Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders regarding Backbase/Finzly implementations.
  • Provide ongoing support and training to end-users and business partners.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven experience working with Backbase or Finzly digital banking platforms.
  • Strong understanding of digital banking channels, including retail, SME, and corporate banking.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Experience with system integration, APIs, and web services.
  • Familiarity with banking systems such as core banking, payment processing, and CRM.
• Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, with experience using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and Trello.
• Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of interfacing with business users, technical teams, and senior management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Agile Business Analyst (IIBA), or PMP are a plus.
• Experience with FinTech: Prior experience in fintech or digital transformation projects, especially in the banking and payments space.
• Technical Skills: Exposure to data analysis tools, SQL, or experience with enterprise architecture tools.
