Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a Director of People Services to work for a client in Kennewick, WA area. This is a Direct hire, an onsite role.

Job Description

Summary
The Director of People Services is responsible for coordinating and directing co-worker relations programs and functions. This position primarily focuses on co-worker relations, including personnel administration, policy and procedure development, wage and salary structure management, and compliance for Human Resource functions. Responsibilities also include developing, interpreting, and recommending program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Formulate and recommend program goals and objectives in all areas of co-worker relations.
  • Develop, implement, and administer co-worker relations areas within the personnel program to improve workplace relations.
  • Foster a family-friendly organizational environment.
  • Identify staffing and recruitment needs; develop and execute best practices for hiring and talent management. Responsible for developing an organizational focus of a family friendly environment. 
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand organizational goals related to staffing, recruitment, and retention.
  • Supervise subordinate staff in recruitment, selection procedures, personnel policies, and in-service training.
  • Investigate workplace concerns, disciplinary actions, and employee/applicant grievances, offering guidance and recommendations for resolution.
  • Prepare and present required reports and budgetary planning for the HR department, ensuring operations align with approved budgets. Develops and presents operating budget for the HR dept. and, upon final budget approval, assures that all functions operate within appropriate amounts. 
  • Evaluate and recommend actions for hiring, promotions, disciplinary, terminations, and commendatory actions for all co workers.
  • Supervises and directs onboarding of new employees including determination of eligibility for hire; directs  and updates general orientation processes for all new employees. 
  • Oversee recruitment activities, including advertising and outreach efforts in conjunction with Nursing Administration and Ancillary Department Leaders as needed.
  • Provide high-level communication and training to directors and managers regarding HR policies, procedures and practices.

Job Requirements
Must-Haves:
  1. Candidate must have healthcare experience.
  2. Candidate must have union experience.
  3. Graduate from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Relations, or Human Resources.
Nice-To-Haves:
  1. SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  2. Master's degree preferred.
