Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Architect with a strong background in the banking industry, application rationalization, and data management. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the complexities of financial systems, applications, and data architectures, with proven experience in aligning IT strategies with business goals. This role is fully remote and offers a long-term contract with the opportunity to shape the future of our technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain Enterprise Architecture: Design and implement a robust, scalable enterprise architecture framework that aligns with the banking industry's regulatory requirements, best practices, and emerging trends.
- Application Rationalization: Lead efforts in application rationalization, including evaluating existing applications, identifying redundancies, and consolidating systems to optimize the application portfolio.
- Data Architecture and Strategy: Define and implement data architecture principles and frameworks, ensuring data integrity, availability, and security across the organization. Develop data models, integrate data sources, and design data flow processes.
- Technology Roadmap Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals and vision. Identify opportunities for new technologies that can drive innovation and efficiency.
- Cloud and Digital Transformation: Drive cloud adoption strategies and digital transformation initiatives, ensuring a seamless transition from on-premises systems to cloud-based solutions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders, IT teams, and vendors to understand business needs, propose solutions, and ensure successful implementation of enterprise architecture strategies.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices. Implement and maintain governance frameworks to manage risks and ensure the scalability of the technology architecture.
- Documentation and Communication: Prepare comprehensive architecture documentation, technical specifications, and design blueprints. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, with a strong focus on the banking industry.
- Proven experience in application rationalization, optimizing application portfolios, and reducing IT complexity.
- Solid background in data architecture, including data modeling, data integration, and data governance.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and understanding of hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
- Experience with microservices architecture, APIs, and middleware.
- Familiarity with data management platforms, ETL tools, and data governance frameworks.
- Proficiency in architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or similar.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving organizational change.
