Kaeppel Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Guidewire BillingCenter Business Systems Analyst to work for one of our clients in one of the following locations - Birmingham, AL; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Downers Grove, IL; Jacksonville, FL. In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers, testing analysts, and key business stakeholders to define and deliver on product and program requirements for client’s Guidewire BillingCenter implementation. You will be accountable for managing medium to large-scale projects, driving change management, providing guidance on application configuration, and ensuring seamless coordination across IT and business functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guidewire BillingCenter Expertise: Serve as the go-to Business Systems Analyst for Guidewire BillingCenter, leveraging your extensive knowledge to deliver effective solutions and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and IT teams, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT capabilities while managing the IT portfolio.
- Technical Design & Documentation: Conduct thorough systems analysis and produce detailed functional and technical design documents to guide development and configuration efforts.
- Testing & Quality Assurance: Contribute to the application testing process by providing inputs on test case design and execution. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the delivered product meets business requirements.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of client’s Guidewire BillingCenter implementation, leveraging your prior experience to ensure best practices are followed and solutions are optimized.
- Change Management Leadership: Lead complex change management initiatives, including the development of training plans and materials, conducting training sessions, creating operational procedures, and offering support for production readiness activities (deployment, war room, troubleshooting, etc.).
- Configuration & Implementation: Oversee the analysis, design, and testing of Guidewire BillingCenterconfiguration, ensuring seamless integration with business processes and systems.
- Ongoing Learning & Knowledge Sharing: Stay current on business functionality and evolving technology platforms, ensuring the team’s skills remain aligned with emerging trends and best practices.
- Production Support: Provide expertise in post-production activities, including triage, troubleshooting, data analysis, defect resolution, and ensuring compliance with product and regulatory requirements.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior Business Systems Analysts (BSAs), helping them improve their technical skills and overall performance across projects.
- Estimation & Oversight: Contribute to high-level project estimation during ideation and provide oversight of smaller work requests, ensuring they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work collaboratively with business and IT teams, providing consistent communication on project progress, issues, and resolution strategies.
Position Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years as a Business Systems Analyst with a strong background in Guidewire Insurance Suite. At least 2 years of recent, hands-on experience with Guidewire BillingCenter.
- P&C Insurance Knowledge: Deep understanding of P&C insurance with expertise in Non-standard Auto Insurance being a significant plus.
- Business Analysis Skills: Proficiency in documenting workflows, use cases, business rules, user stories, and acceptance criteria, coupled with strong data analysis (SQL, reporting) skills.
- Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Advanced knowledge of SDLC activities and methodologies, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality deliverables.
- Guidewire BillingCenter Configuration: Demonstrated experience in designing and configuring BillingCenter, including testing configuration changes using a behavior-driven approach to test cases and user acceptance criteria.
- Post-Production Support: Expertise in post-production monitoring, troubleshooting, defect triage, and data analysis to ensure system stability and performance.
- Tools & Technology Expertise: Experience using JIRA and Confluence for project management and collaboration. Knowledge of ServiceNow and AWS is a plus.
- Education: A degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Supplementary coursework or certifications in insurance or technology are a plus.
